Very interesting discussion John! Hi Darren! I was shocked to hear we might have to fully give up on Gripen and other types, yet still spend millions on a spy satellite. Who is doing the thinking, here?
Hey Chris!
Yes, it seems ridiculous doesn’t it? The priorities are all out of whack, with the civilian leadership doing a horrible job of oversight and policy direction and the officer staffs trying to keep doing the impossible.
I get the very real sense that everyone from CSANDF upwards actually has no idea how bad things really are and how serious the potential consequences are going to be.
A spy satellite is a luxury, whereas the SANDF is at the level now where it needs attention paid to the basics.
